Through Nexus Action’s presence at London Climate Action Week, the message woven into every conversation was simple: accelerated progress on climate, health and equity will only come from transforming our food systems. No single actor holds the full picture. Collaboration and more effective Science-Policy-Society interfaces are essential to reach more healthy, sustainable and just food systems at scale.
LCAW 2026 was the first global fora engagement since our relaunch community gathering on 16 April 2026: a first opportunity to test the Nexus Action narrative and vision for change, to amplify our messages around nexus approaches to food, climate, health and equity, and to pool collective intelligence through multi-actor dialogue, modelling effective Science-Policy-Society interfaces in practice.
The demonstration of what progress looks like came from the Communities for Action (CfAs). Remobilised in person in London for the first time since the Stockholm Food Forum in October 2025, the CfAs not only showcased their evidence-based action on the ground, but gathered to pool collective intelligence and look forward to the next phase.
Our takeaway: momentum is there for this global community of food systems changemakers to expand its regional and local reach, work collaboratively on breakthrough solutions, and deepen its capacity to interact with knowledge and science.
Thank you to the Alliance of Bioversity & CIAT for being an active Gardener in London alongside Convene; to the Global Citizens' Assembly and ISWE for collaborating with us and challenging the CfAs on how we engage with citizens voices; to the Wellcome Trust, RegenHouse and the Almond Board of California for opening up spaces and platforms to make these interfaces happen.
